Current Obsession: Fringe + Suede

I’m not sure what it is with this combo…it could be because it brings me back to my 13 year old self wearing my suede cowboy boots and fringe jacket, or because it reminds me of the fashions from some of my favourite 90’s supermodels (Cindy, Stephanie, Kate), either way I’m embracing this trend until it’s gone again. The best part is you can rock these looks without breaking the bank! Here are a few of my favourite pieces…

Super Easy Apple Crisp

I love this time of year especially because it’s the start of baking season in our house. This super easy Apple Crisp dish has been a staple of mine for years and never disappoints! I’ve posted the original recipe below, but feel free to improvise. (I usually double up on the oat topping and use less sugar and flour) Either way, it’s going to be a hit, I promise…especially with a side of French Vanilla ice cream. Enjoy 🙂

Transitioning to Fall Makeup

This is the time of year I like to re-evaluate my makeup routine and make any necessary adjustments…ok who am I kidding, I really don’t need an excuse to buy new makeup. That being said, here are a few of my makeup must-haves for the Fall season…

_MG_4269First things first, I swapped out my summer foundation, Chanel’s Aqua VitaLumiere, and purchased the new Mac Studio Waterweight SPF30, (in NC30). I must admit I haven’t been a huge fan of Mac’s foundations in the past and probably haven’t purchased one since highschool…however I was pleasantly surprised by this new formulation! It claims to “softly blur imperfections such as pores and fine lines”. I would agree it leaves a beautiful airbrushed finish and is hydrating enough for dry skin types. It’s texture is weightless, yet buildable, and I’m loving the bottle dropper packaging. With an SPF of 30, this foundation has very quickly become a favourite that I may even wear throughout the summer months.

IMG_4277Next up is a couple eyeshadows from my go-to Bobbi Brown. Something about this colour combo, (Left) Rich Navy and (Right) Slate, I’m just loving! Pair it with Bobbi’s Smokey Eye Mascara and Anastasia’s Brow Whiz for a bold brow, and you’ve got an effortless smokey eye look for all the upcoming Holiday parties. (Yes, they are just around the corner!).

_MG_4289Lip colours should also change with the season. I like to update with a new bold and neutral. Mac’s Rebel (Left) is said to be the perfect shade for all skin tones according to beauty guru Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere, and Faux (Right) is a mauvy-pink neutral that’s also a favourite of trend-setter, Miss Kylie Jenner herself).

IMG_4275Lastly, you can’t forget about nails! These colours can easily pass as neutrals for Fall and have been long-time favourites of mine. (L-R, Sand Tropez, Mink Muffs and Case Study)

Hope you enjoyed my transitioning to Fall makeup routine. Stay tuned for an updated skincare routine coming soon!
