March Favourites

Happy Saturday! I can’t believe it’s already April, 1st! This past month has really flown by, but I did manage to try some new products that I’m loving and wanted to share in this month’s edit. So let’s get right into my March Favourites!

Marc Jacobs Beauty recently came out with their new line of Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme’s, and as soon as I heard about them I had to try them out! They claim to be hydrating, creamy and last up to 8 hours and I’m happy to say that I agree!  They’re not goopy like a lot of glosses, and not drying like most matte liquid lips…just a happy in-between!  They have a beautiful range of wearable nude shades and I picked up Slow Burn and Truth or Bare. To be honest, I rarely wear lip products on a day-to-day basis, so I’ll be reserving these for special occasions, but as per usual, Marc Jacobs does not disappoint!

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip CremeAnother makeup product I have been loving this past month is Anastasia’s Brow Definer. I had been using her Brow Wiz for years, (still love it), but wanted to try the Definer to see what all the fuss was about. The Definer is definitely a thicker pencil, which I really like because it gives your brows more of a natural, full look…without the hassle and mess of a brow powder. Ofcourse it’s not as precise as the thin-tipped Brow Whiz, but I feel like you can get away with that really bold, thick, less than perfect brow look these days, and this product will definitely help you achieve that! The little spoolie brush on the end is an added bonus 🙂

The last makeup item that made the cut this past month was the N*28 Primer Serum from Hourglass. I got this using my VIB Insider points at Sephora and after using it for most of the month, I think I might have to purchase the full size! It glides on so silky smooth thanks to it’s 28 essential oils and vitamins, (hence the name), and leaves a dewy glow to the skin. I would recommend this for normal-dry skin types as it’s very rich and hydrating.

Another item I couldn’t live without last month was the Peppermint Halo Headache Remedy from Saje. For some reason I had quite a few headaches in March, (possibly our crazy weather?!), and this essential oil roll-on saved me many times! The combination of peppermint, lavender and rosemary help to soothe, calm and relieve headache pain and muscle aches. Just roll this around your hairline, creating a “halo” effect and feel almost instant relief!

Saje Peppermint haloMoving onto skincare, this Rice Enzyme Powder by Tatcha is so good! I’ve had it for awhile now but found myself gravitating to it more and more this month. The combination of Japanses rice bran and papaya extract is gentle yet effective for removing that dead winter skin, and it leaves your skin so super soft. I use this a couple of times a week instead of harsher exfoliants like scrubs or glycolic acids, because my skin is more sensitive in these dryer months. I also love that it comes in a smaller size so you don’t have to splurge on the larger one ($$$) and it’s so much more convenient for traveling.

Pucker up! I’ve been wanting to try out collagen lip masks for some time now, and I finally got my hands on some! These KNC collagen lip masks are all-natural and contain a moisturizing blend of rose flower oil, cherry extract and vitamin E.. The added collagen gives you that full, hydrated, plumped look, perfect as a lipstick primer before a night out.  There’s nothing worse than those little annoying upper lip lines and these masks really help to soften them, even if only temporarily, for $5 each I’ll take a dozen!

My last favourite item of the month has to be this amazing book I just finished reading called The Slight Edge, by Jeff Olson. (Thanks to my girls over at Somewhere, Lately for the recommendation). Like most personal development books, it talks about reaching your fullest potential in multiple areas of your life including relationships, health, and finances. However, this one was so straight-forward, to the point, and easy to read, that it really hit home for me. The book’s philosophy is to take small steps daily to reach your goal. Something very easy to do and yet very easy not to do.  I can’t say enough about this book, it has created such a shift in my mindset and I would highly HIGHLY recommend it!

So that concludes my March Favourites. I’d love to know which makeup products, skincare or books you’ve loved this past month. Leave me a comment below and let me know!

My Favorite Must-Have Pregnancy Products

I have to admit, I was #BLESSED with an amazing pregnancy!  Other than, (extreme!), fatigue during my first trimester, I pretty much sailed right through the 9 months. That being said, I did rely on a few essential items to help me along the way. Here is a round-up of my favorite must-have pregnancy products.

FullSizeRender

FullSizeRender2I have always loved the Honest products and their Face and Body Lotion is no exception. I would use this every night straight out of the shower concentrating mainly on my belly, hips and chest. Once the lotion was absorbed, I would apply a generous amount of Belly Jelly by Substance. This stretch mark cream is the bomb!!! I had tried many that were too greasy and would never fully absorb on my skin, or they were way to fragranced. This one is perfect, not too greasy, with just a light lavender scent…and best of all it’s all natural. I loved it so much that I had to get a travel size for my purse. Not sure if this is what prevented my stretch marks or not, but I’m sure it helped 😉

FullSizeRenderCan we talk about Saje Wellness for a minute?!? Where has this place been all my life?! I only discovered it near the end of my first trimester. I love going into their store and checking out all the oils (Liquid Sunshine is my favorite!) and the staff there are always so knowledgeable and helpful! My hubby picked up a couple of the Mother’s Wellness products and I used them throughout my pregnancy. The Stretch Mark Blend I actually used as a massage oil for those oh-so appreciated back rubs. The Soothing Blend roll-on has lavender and chamomile oil for relaxation and is perfect before bedtime. Dab a little, (or in my case, a ton!), on your temples, head, neck…and then drift off to sleep (Unfortunately, it doesn’t prevent you from waking up a dozen times in the night to use the bathroom!)

IMG_2496I received the Earth Mama Angel Baby Organic tea sampler in a gift basket from my sister-in-law, and since I couldn’t stomach the thought of coffee, I tried it out right away. There are 4 different tea samplers inside. My favorite was the Peaceful Mama tea which I would have in the evenings since it’s a blend of lemon and chamomile. Of course I also had the Third Trimester tea (raspberry leaf) during the last few days to help get this little one out! There’s also a Mama’s Tummy Tea for nausea, and a Mama’s Morning Tea for a quick pick-me-up. I ended up repurchasing a box of the Peaceful Mama tea and still use it now, postpartum.

4Last, but certainly not least, is my beloved Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil. I cannot rave enough about this stuff! It is literally my holy grail beauty product that I’ve used for years for my dry skin. During my pregnancy, my skin was super sensitive and I would regularly break out in hives. Every night I would use my argan oil and by morning the hives were gone, including any redness. I can’t say enough about this miracle oil, it literally does it all!

This concludes my favorite must have pregnancy products. Hope you enjoyed reading about them and will give them a try – pregnant or not!
